AIC Haiti: Microinsurance and Post-Disaster Activities
AIC (Alternative Insurance Company) Haiti offers a broad range of insurance products and services since 2001. It introduced microinsurance in 2007 in partnership with Fonkoze, a microfinance institution.
Based in Port-au-Prince, AIC staff members and clients were seriously affected by the 2010 earthquakes. The company was quick to get back on its feet when it came to serving their clients and kicked off a couple of activities ranging from consumer focus groups to psychological training for staff members.
Marc Nabeth, CGSI Consulting, working with AIC for a long time, visited Haiti in March and together with Oliver Barrau, the founder of AIC documented these activities in a presentation.
