Milliman is a global company that brings depth and breadth of experience to microinsurance projects. Milliman has advised clients in all areas of insurance and employee benefits for more than six decades. Microinsurance differs from the mainstream insurance market, but microinsurance providers must contend with the same basic challenges faced by anybody setting up a financially viable insurance system. Milliman can also bring actuarial services to developing regions where skilled actuaries are nonexistent or in very short supply. Microinsurance programs are meant to help break the cycle of poverty and underdevelopment, but to succeed in this goal, microinsurance requires a basis in accurate financial analysis, as well as insight into the way insurance companies work.
