AIC use alternative measures for reporting losses
Haitian microinsurer, the Alternative Insurance Company (AIC), has created a special email link for reporting losses resulting from the earthquake, because of the continuing problems with the telephone system.
The address is reclamations@aic.ht. In addition to a statement on the company’s website, AIC has used Facebook to let its clients know how to notify claims. The company has reassured its clients that it will provide a rapid service.

The Microinsurance Innovation Facility, in partnership with UNACOOPEC (Union of SACCOS in Ivory Coast) is looking for a fellow to help them in the development of their microinsurance department.
UNACOOPEC is a network of SACCOs with more than 800.000 members in Ivory Coast. UNACOOPEC has just started its microinsurance activities since September 2008, with the launching of a funeral insurance and the creation of an microinsurance department. The UNACOOPEC is looking for a fellow to work on the monitoring and evaluation of the product, and to create and improve the internal procedures.
