The government of Uganda has challenged Insurance companies in Uganda to invest in microinsurance business in rural areas rather than only concentrating in the urban areas.
The Minister of State for Micro Finance, Ruth Nankabirwa says the people in rural areas want to access Microinsurance services but most Insurance Companies still fear to invest their money in rural villages.
Nankabirwa said this while opening Tukolere wamu Microfinance in Buwama, Kampala –Masaka road.
The Minister says if the Insurance Companies want to look national in character, they have to open up branches across the country including in remote areas.
