This study, which is part of the Microinsurance Learning and Knowledge (MILK) Project, is the result of extensive research on documents that relate to microinsurance client value as well as identification of on-going and planned projects looking at aspects of the client value question. The document has a summary of lessons from the study, as well as a grid linking studies with components of the value question, and an extensive annotated bibliography.

This paper examines ways in which insurers can succeed in providing microinsurance in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and help make it sustainable. The paper observes that microinsurance could be a serious alternative to traditional insurance business and may easily become a new revenue generation stream if designed and implemented well.
