The newsletter, published 3 times a year and available in English, French and Spanish, has been redesigned to be in line with the new branding of the Network and to facilitate reading.

This edition focuses on the effects of climate change on microinsurance and includes a conference report from Central America entitled 'Forum Regional sobre Microseguros en América Central'.

The secretariat of the Microinsurance Network teamed up with a group of students from the Lycée Technique Michel-Lucius in Luxembourg to promote microinsurance. The awareness-raising project, part of the Luxembourgish school curriculum, is designed to prepare the students from year 12 (16-17 year olds) for their working life and improve their ability to work in a group.

The students decided that the best way to raise the awareness of microinsurance was to organise a drawing competition throughout schools in Luxembourg. The participants were asked to draw an image that explains microinsurance.

The competition, sponsored by Utopolis, had 12 entries and the top 5 including the winner can be viewed below.

The secretariat would like to thank Julie, Frederico, Lisa, Melissa and Philippe for their great effort and enthusiasm in making this project a success. Not only did they inform schools and teachers the importance of microinsurance, they also got their award ceremony reported in the local press!
