Most of the activities of the Dissemination Working Group will now be looked after by the Microinsurance Network secretariat, and the Working Group, therefore, retired in November 2008.
Past activitiesThis Working Group started following activities:
- International Microinsurance Conference
The first Microinsurance Conference in Munich in 2005 was generally considered a success. Subequent conferences were held in Cape Town, Mumbai and in Cartagena. More than 450 participants from over 50 countries attended the last conference. Munich Re Foundation, the main organiser, will continue to hold these conference, and a special Conference Commitee with Microinsurance Network members assists them.
- Microinsurance Focus website
The Dissemination Working Group managed the Microinsurance Focus website. This website was conceived as a resource centre of Microfinance Gateway, and provided a broad range of information and resources including case studies and reports, documents and articles, tools and information on different service providers.
- Microinsurance: Risk Management for the Poor newsletter
This Working group also published the newsletter Microinsurance: Risk Management for the Poor, which presents key topics and experiences in microinsurance and updates on the different Working Group's activities. |
