Africa’s insurance industry plays a crucial role in fostering economic resilience, financial inclusion, and sustainable development. However, despite its potential, the sector remains underutilised as a driver of youth employment and economic empowerment. With Africa’s youth population expected to surpass 800 million by 2050, integrating young professionals into the insurance workforce is essential for ensuring sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth.
This event aims to highlight the role of the insurance industry in fostering youth employment, economic inclusion, and financial resilience in Africa. It is hosted by The African Association of Young Insurance Professionals as a side event at the United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum, taking place from April 15 – 17, 2025, in New York, USA.
