The All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) and Microinsurance Network (MiN) are jointly organising a virtual roundtable on “Small Heat Resilience Measures: Big Impact in Small Towns and on Small Businesses in India” on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
Extreme heat is quietly disrupting health, livelihoods, and local economies in India’s small towns—especially for small businesses and urban workers. This roundtable will highlight how small, locally led resilience measures can deliver a big impact through early action, low-cost cooling, and people-centred solutions.
The roundtable will also mark the launch of a special issue of Southasiadisasters.net on “Small Heat Resilience Measures: Big Impact in Small Towns and on Small Businesses in India,” showcasing field-based evidence and lessons on cooling extreme heat, protecting work, dignity, and equity—and avoiding avoidable heat-related deaths.
