According to the 2021 Landscape Study, there has been a notable jump in the uptake of inclusive health insurance, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in Africa and Asia. As highlighted by the MiN’s 2021 Landscape of Microinsurance Study, health products can be distributed by a myriad of channels, including direct sales agents, MFIs, MNOs, brokers, community associations and others.
But what is the impact of different distribution channels for these products? And can any conclusions be drawn on whether there are significant differences in the key performance indicators of health products (such as loss ratios), when distributed by different channels? During this Expert Forum, organised by the MiN’s Best Practice Group on Improving Health Outcomes, we will hear from an exciting and globally diverse panel of speakers about their experiences of different distribution channels for health products, and attempt to answer the questions posed.
