The MiN Executive Team are versatile, professional, qualified staff who have lived and/or worked in Austria, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Myanmar, Sierra Leone, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Venezuela and Vietnam. The team has travelled extensively in developing countries and between them speak English, French, German, Lithuanian, Luxembourgish, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Katharine Pulvermacher 

Executive Director

A development economist specialised in Africa, Katharine has a background in investment marketing, research and strategy consulting and brings previous experience managing member-based organisations. She is the programme manager for donor coordination, global partnerships, the Landscape Studies and other market intelligence projects, alongside her other strategic and managerial responsibilities.

Asier Achutegui 

Senior Manager

With more than 15 years of experience in development, Asier previously worked in the evaluation, development and design of social inclusion public policy in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has experience in searching for development solutions globally and has worked in budgeting for projects aimed at improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable. In his current role, he is responsible for fundraising; coordinates key events and manages relationships with members from Europe.

Noelia Garcia 

Executive Assistant

With a background in teaching and counselling, Noelia is responsible for finance, membership administration and supports the team by organising logistics for events alongside her day-to-day administrative duties.

Pedro Pinheiro 

Project Manager

Pedro is the coordinator of the Insurance Development Forum’s (IDF) Inclusive Insurance Working Group, a role that is funded thanks to the support of the IDF and UNDP’s Insurance and Risk Finance Facility. He has ten years of experience in the insurance industry, having managed various multi-stakeholder projects in inclusive finance, consumer protection, sustainable insurance and innovation. He has a background in Law with a practical and academic focus in economic regulation. Aiste Vysniauskaite 

Digital Media Coordinator

Aiste is responsible for website and social media management and supports the design and technical production of the monthly newsletter. She also takes care of our web and social media analytics, creative multimedia outputs and special media projects. Aiste has a background in media and political science and worked in a communications role in the non-profit sector prior to joining the MiN, along with experience in financial services and insurance.

Regional support

Stephanie Soedjede 

Africa Regional Manager

Stephanie has nine years of experience in strategic and operational consulting for international organisations as well as public and private institutions in Africa, with a focus on social protection and inclusive insurance. In her current role, she contributes to knowledge management, the Landscape Study and works closely with North & West African members. She has a background in actuarial sciences, digital and inclusive finance.

Karimi Nthiga

Africa Regional Coordinator

As the regional coordinator for Africa, Karimi works closely with our members in Southern and Eastern Africa. In her role, she supports the implementation of the Landscape study, contributes to knowledge management, coordinates the MSME & the making insurance work for women BPGs. 

Karimi is an Economist with seven years of experience implementing research in the Eastern Africa region, working with various organisations within the financial inclusion space to understand consumer's economic behavior, barriers to adoption and designing interventions that increase uptake, usage and retention.

Nicolas Morales 

LAC Regional Manager

In his role, Nicolas works closely with our regionalisation partners (FIDES, Fasecolda and ILO's Impact Insurance Facility) in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. He is responsible for promoting peer learning and knowledge generation through capacity building workshops, along with the development of publications and reports on inclusive insurance. Prior to joining the MiN, Nicolas was LAC´s Programme Officer in the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), and has a background in economics and engineering.

Sara Orozco 

LAC Regional Coordinator

As an economist and political scientist, Sara supports the regional strategy for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to drive the development of inclusive insurance in the region. In her role, she contributes to the coordination of the Landscape Study, working closely with LAC collaborators. Prior to joining the MiN, Sara worked within the Colombian Federation of Insurers (Fasecolda) on financial inclusion and innovation.
